§ Technology

The engineering behind Rainmaker.

Rainmaker® is a complete roof protection system — modular pipework, pressure-regulated sprinkler technology, PVC mounting and QR-code installation, engineered to deliver consistent, overlapping coverage across the roof and protection zone — for wildfire protection, roof temperature reduction and rooftop solar panel cleaning.

§ 01 — Sprinkler Technology

Engineered droplets. Consistent distribution.

Rainmaker® incorporates high-performance, pressure-regulated flexible sprinkler technology engineered to deliver consistent water distribution across the protected area. The sprinkler heads produce large, rain-like droplets that maximise roof saturation while resisting wind drift and mist formation.

Regulation is intrinsic to the head, not an accessory. Every sprinkler on the network operates within the same narrow performance band — so the first head on the ridge behaves the same as the last, and coverage is predictable across the whole roof.

§ 02 — System Architecture

Seven engineered systems, one platform.

Rainmaker® performs the way it does because every subsystem is engineered — and every subsystem is engineered to work with the others.

T.01

Modular Pipe System

The Rainmaker® network is built from standardised 6 m modules that connect end-to-end along the roof ridge or exterior wall. Every module carries the same pipework, spacing and head geometry — coverage is scaled by adding modules, not by re-engineering the system for each roof.

  • Standard 6 m modular sections
  • Push-fit inter-module couplers
  • Sealed pressure end caps
  • UV-stable, pressure-rated pipework

Flexible Sprinkler Technology

Each Rainmaker® sprinkler head uses high-performance flexible sprinkler technology designed for reliable, consistent water distribution. Every head — first module to last — operates within the same narrow performance band, and the outlet is tuned to produce large, rain-like droplets that resist wind drift.

  • Operating pressure: 2 – 6 bar
  • Nominal flow: 750 L/h per sprinkler
  • Consistent, regulated distribution
  • Large rain-like droplet distribution
  • Field-replaceable component
T.03

Water Distribution

Water is delivered from the site source — municipal, borehole, tank, dam or reservoir — through the modular network to every sprinkler head simultaneously. A minimum inlet pressure of 2 bar is required; below this an appropriately sized inline pressure pump is fitted so every module reaches design flow.

  • Minimum inlet pressure: 2 bar
  • Municipal · Borehole · Tank · Dam · Reservoir
  • Balanced flow across the full module run
  • Gradual saturation over ~10 minutes
T.04

Overlapping Coverage

Every head delivers a 12 metre spray radius. Two heads on each 6 m module create overlapping domes above the ridge — and modules butt end-to-end so the pattern is continuous along the entire ridge. There are no gaps between heads and no gaps between modules.

  • Spray radius (per sprinkler head): 12 metres
  • 2 flexible sprinkler heads per 6 m module
  • Continuous overlapping coverage across the ridge
  • Independent zones for larger installations

PVC Mounting System

Modules are held in place by UV-stabilised PVC brackets. Brackets are secured with screws bonded using a high-strength two-part epoxy adhesive, and the module clips onto the seated bracket — no fasteners pass through the pressurised pipework.

  • UV-stabilised PVC brackets (≥ 2 per module)
  • Two-part epoxy-bonded screw fixings
  • Clip-on module retention
  • Engineered for continuous outdoor use

QR-Code Installation

Every Rainmaker® system ships with a unique QR code that links directly to the latest online Installation Guide and Installation Video. Instructions, updates and revisions remain current at the source — there are no printed manuals or memory sticks to replace.

  • Unique code per system
  • Latest Installation Guide always current

Engineering Calculations

The System Designer sizes every Rainmaker® installation from first principles — ridge length, roof geometry, water source and available pressure — and returns module count, head count, flow demand and an indicative investment range in the Preliminary Protection Design Report.

  • Modules sized to ridge length
  • Head count and total flow computed per configuration
  • Water source and pressure validated
  • Delivered as the Preliminary Protection Design Report
§ 03 — Why it matters

Why large droplets — and why regulated pressure.

Large droplets carry further
Fine mist is easily displaced by hot updrafts and cross-winds at a fire front, and much of it evaporates before it reaches the roof. Large, rain-like droplets carry through those conditions and land where they are needed — on the roof surface and the surrounding protection zone.
Pressure regulation keeps every head equal
Without regulation, heads closer to the inlet flow harder than heads at the far end of the run. Pressure regulation compresses that variance so every module contributes the same coverage, regardless of position on the network.
Low maintenance, field-serviceable
The head is a high-performance flexible sprinkler engineered for reliable, consistent water distribution. Inspection is visual, and heads are replaced as individual components without disturbing the surrounding module.
Replaceable, not proprietary-locked
Every functional element of the system — heads, brackets, couplers, end caps — is a defined Rainmaker® component with a clear replacement path.
