Step 01

Before you begin

Check what is in the box and confirm your water supply before going up on the roof.

  • What's included: one 6 metre Rainmaker® module, 2 pre-fitted flexible sprinkler heads, UV-stabilised PVC mounting brackets, push-fit connectors and end caps.
  • Tools required: cordless drill, appropriate screws, two-part epoxy adhesive, tape measure, adjustable spanner and safe roof access equipment.
  • Water supply: municipal, borehole, water tank or dam — any suitable supply that can deliver the required pressure.
  • Minimum operating pressure: 2 bar at the system inlet.
  • Work with a second person, in dry conditions, and follow safe working-at-height practice. A registered plumber can complete the connection if you prefer.
Step 02

Positioning your Rainmaker® module

The module is installed on top of the roof ridge and runs along the length of the ridge.

  • Mount the module ON TOP OF the ridge, parallel to it, running along the full length of the ridge line.
  • Do not mount the module beside the ridge, down the roof slope, or across the ridge.
  • Position the UV-stabilised PVC brackets evenly along the ridge, then fix each bracket with screws bonded using two-part epoxy adhesive.
  • Clip the module onto the mounted brackets so both flexible sprinkler heads stand clear of the ridge cap.
  • Each 6 m module carries 2 flexible sprinkler heads, each with a 12 metre spray radius, giving overlapping coverage along the ridge.
Step 03

Connecting the water supply

Rainmaker® connects to the water source you already have on the property.

  • Municipal water: connect to a suitable outdoor supply point or dedicated feed line.
  • Borehole: connect downstream of your existing pump and pressure vessel.
  • Water tank: feed from the tank outlet — a pump is normally needed to reach the required pressure.
  • Dam or reservoir: feed via a suitably sized pump and inlet filter.
  • Garden tap: suitable where the tap can deliver the required pressure and flow.
  • Minimum operating pressure is 2 bar. If your available pressure is below 2 bar, an inline pressure pump may be required. A pressure pump is not included with the standard module.
Step 04

Connecting multiple modules

Longer ridges and larger properties are covered by joining modules end to end.

  • Join 6 metre modules end-to-end with the supplied push-fit connectors to form one continuous run along the ridge.
  • Keep every module on top of the ridge and in line with the run — do not step modules down the slope.
  • Fit an end cap to the final module to close the run.
  • Detailed connection diagrams for multi-module runs will be added to this section as the product documentation is finalised.
Step 05

Testing your system

Commission the system once, so you know it works before you ever need it.

  • Open the supply slowly and check every joint and connector for leaks.
  • Confirm the system holds and operates at a minimum of 2 bar.
  • Check that both sprinkler heads on each module produce an even spray along the ridge.
  • Rainmaker® is manually activated — you open the water supply when you choose to protect the property.
  • Final step-by-step testing and commissioning instructions will be published in this section.
Step 06

Troubleshooting

Common questions and what to check first.

  • Weak or uneven spray — check available pressure at the inlet; below 2 bar an inline pressure pump may be required.
  • No water reaching the module — confirm the supply is fully open and check for a closed valve or blocked inlet filter.
  • Leak at a joint — depressurise, re-seat the push-fit connector and re-test.
  • Spray not reaching far enough — confirm module placement along the ridge and check pressure at the inlet.
  • Still stuck? Contact the Rainmaker® team and we will help you diagnose it.
Step 07

Important information

Please read before and after installation.

  • Rainmaker® is manually activated. It is not an automatic wildfire detection or activation system.
  • Always follow safe working-at-height practice, or appoint a registered plumber or qualified installer.
  • Do not modify the module, sprinkler heads or connectors.
  • Inspect the installation visually from time to time, and after severe weather.
  • Rainmaker® reduces wildfire risk to the protected area. It does not guarantee that a structure cannot be damaged by fire.
